Spiritual Masters: Audrey Kitagawa
Audrey Kitagawa’s face shines with love and devotion when she speaks about her Japanese mentor and guru Flora Nomi, whom she refers to as Divine Mother. On March 26th, she’ll join EnlightenNext founder Andrew Cohen
to speak more about this special bond as they celebrate the life-changing power of the student-teacher relationship during the “Awakening to Your Highest Self” virtual broadcast.
Audrey Kitagawa works as a full-time volunteer for the United Nations in the rescue and rehabilitation of child combatants forced to fight in civil wars and insurgencies throughout the developing world. Formerly a successful attorney in Honolulu, Kitagawa is also the sole heir to the spiritual legacy of her guru, and fulfills the role of teacher, guru, and spiritual mother to her own students around the globe.
Audrey Kitagawa on Flora Nomi, the Divine Mother:
Divine Mother exemplified God’s love, and
demonstrated through her every action the magnificence of God in the seeming ordinariness of daily life. She was a housewife, and raised five children. She was simple, unassuming, and only had an eighth grade education. However, doctors, lawyers, professors, the highly educated and uneducated alike, all sat at her feet, transfixed by her powerful, spontaneous expositions on God, and the inherent Divinity within each one of us.
Divine Mother said that our true purpose in life is to realize God,
and by accepting Sri Ramakrishna, we accept the Total, and not just the part. She said that there is no religion in Spirit, and that we are all children of God, immortal, eternal, and already in His Light. She took us out of our deep slumber, awakened our spiritual consciousness and transmitted into our hearts the Eternal Truth that the Lord, our God, is One. People from all different religious persuasions have come to know more about Divine Mother, and have been heartened by the love and acceptance they find here.
In the moving autobiographical account below, filmed during one of salons hosted by Andrew Cohen at the Parliament of the World’s Religions, Kitagawa describes how she came to hold the spiritual legacy of her Divine Mother. Rooted in the universal spiritual vision of the great Indian mystic and sage Sri Ramakrishna, Audrey conveys her deep commitment to the spiritual upliftment of the human race.
