A New Paradigm for Science (Think About This)

At EnlightenNext magazine, we’ve engaged with hundreds of philosophers, scientists, and spiritual teachers over the years in our ongoing quest to define a new evolutionary worldview. Through these dialogues, we’ve been able to explore and illuminate the relevance of that worldview in far-ranging cultural domains. On May 15th, we’ll be bringing this multidimensional inquiry off the printed page and onto the airwaves as some of our longtime collaborators join us for a free virtual seminar called “The Evolutionary Worldview” (click here to register). To give you a taste of what to expect on May 15th, we’ll be posting you a choice selection of audio and video clips over the coming weeks from our favorite interviews with these featured guests.

First on our list is Marilyn Schlitz, President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), whom we interviewed for the current issue of EnlightenNext magazine (on newsstands now). Dr. Schlitz has spent the past thirty years exploring the mysterious relationship between mind and matter, and she oversees research into everything from telekinesis to quantum physics. In the following audio excerpt, Senior Editor Elizabeth Debold asks Schlitz to explain how fresh scientific insights are starting to erode the foundations of the materialistic worldview and make way for the birth of a new one:

  1. Keith Van Vliet says:

For many years I have been awed at Marilyn Schlitz’s ability to reveal a complex subject. Her explanatory powers are a joy to witness.

  2. Tyler says:

    unbelievable.

  3. S&D says:

There are some wonderful experiments that have been performed but are not widely known….we’ve been members of IONS for a long time and have read a bit about the Ganzfeld research, but have never heard this particular story – it’s a super one! Thank you.

  4. Lee says:

It’s such a shame that the genuine, and honourable, search into the meaning of enlightenment should be mixed with the terrible thinking of this woman. From the very first sentence, she reveals that she doesn’t really understand the scientific method. It’s the point where she says ‘I never needed to do another experiment’ that one realises she’s simply out to prove a point, rather than genuinely and openly-mindedly investigate a phenomenon. It’s also a pity that the interviewer simply keeps repeating ‘wow’ rather than challenging Schlitz’s ridiculous statements.

    • Alvaro says:

Lee is absolutely right, also this has been tested plenty of times, and it hasn’t been that easy to prove. and usually there has to be some connection between the people involved for example best friends, brothers, etc.. also to say that a music/dance school are the best and brightest out there? here she also starts out with a quite biased opinion without proof of a background study.
