Thanks Carter, for this profound blog on the mind. I can definetly relate to what youre saying. The fact is that were so addicted to all the different states of mind there are, and it can prevent us from fully engaging with life, and thats if we let it

Hi Carter, what a great article! As someone who knows both you and your mother personally, I can attest to her wonderful storytelling ability. And I can relate very much to how your mind takes your personal emotional state and projects them into the future. I am constantly wondering about that mechanism in myself. But I agree with you, nothing stays the same for long, including my psychological/emotional state. The only thing that makes sense to me at this point is to fully inhabit and inquire into wherever I am. Things rarely are what I first think they are.

Hi Carter,
I just stumbled upon this. Its not only a very enjoyable read but really profoundly moving. I've been on my own odyssey with the mind these past few months. Trying to not be defined by often overwhelming emotional states. I wish my mind was like my mother....maybe I'd get on better with her if that was the case :) But your description of the mechanics rings absolutely true.
Thanks, Lisa
