As someone who knows both you and your mother personally, I can attest to her wonderful storytelling ability. And I can relate very much to how your mind takes your personal emotional state and projects them into the future. I am constantly wondering about that mechanism in myself. But I agree with you, nothing stays the same for long, including my psychological/emotional state.
